In addition to its flagship product, inter-Vision (Integrated Finance Platform), Intertech serves over 40 million banking customers worldwide with its innovative product, inter-API (Open Banking and Innovation Platform) which provides a robust neobanking infrastructure. Thanks to the solution and business partner ecosystems established by Intertech, banks and financial institutions can easily and quickly integrate their solutions into new technologies. The company continues to have impact on global market trends through Turkey's largest artificial intelligence-supported platform transformation program, initiated in 2023.
Partnering with Appcircle has been a strategic move that has empowered us to reimagine our mobile CI/CD pipeline. Before Appcircle, our mobile CI/CD was on Jenkins; we had a large number of projects which required better organization and development methods with lower costs.
By improving the automation our workflows, providing more efficient centralization and simplifying infrastructure,we further expanded our agility and high innovation capacities for our mobile apps. Challenges
Intertech has sought to improve and bring innovation into its mobile app development process. The company was formerly using a process which was while not exactly manual but was less time-efficient.
The Company’s DevOps infrastructure, powered by Jenkins, Fastlane, MS App Center, and Beamer, supported by two Intel Mac machines, provided a certain capacity which the company wished to improve
Intertech had several opportunities for enhancement within their existing mobile app build pipeline:
- While each mobile team operated with its own unique approach, striving to find the most efficient workflow, there is even room for higher efficiency by common use of certain resources in a more standardized way.
- A portion of Intertech’s build pipeline relied on manual steps, which impacted development speed and resource utilization. Developers were tasked with building apps manually on their local machines for store deployments, a process that could be replaced with better approaches.
- The existing pipeline presented opportunities for improvement in its security measures, especially regarding certificates and environment variables. Moreover, managing environment variables across various locations, including developer machines, Mac build machines, and Jenkins, added complexity to the security landscape.
- The existing pipeline, limited to two Mac build machines, could only handle a maximum of two concurrent builds. As Intertech’s mobile app portfolio grew, the company required more builds and deployments to keep pace with their evolving product roadmap.
- The use of Mac devices for builds outside the data center was not the best method in terms of accessibility and meant operational complexity with undesirable costs for Intertech.
- The existing testing distribution solution VS App Center (which is soon to be discontinued). provided single-upload capacity with daily and hourly upload limits and this required better development timelines and collaboration efforts.
These challenges underscored the need for a more efficient and reliable testing distribution solution to streamline the testing phase of their mobile app development lifecycle.
